David Crosby, musician with the Byrds, and later - Crosby, Stills & Nash. What did he do? Alledgedly, he was pulled over at a traffic stop, and - after a search of his car - Texas rangers found a .45 caliber handgun under his seat. When? April 13, 1982 Charged? Yep, unknown exactly what the charges were. It was a drug-related arrest on weapons possession charges Sentence? Crosby was put into the Texas State Penitentiary for a one year until his conviction was overturned on appeal. Crosby underwent detoxification, and actually thanks the Texas prison system for his recovery.
Johnny Cash was arrested in October 1965 at the El Paso International Airport after U.S. Customs agents found hundreds of pep pills and tranquilizers in his luggage as he returned from a trip to Juarez, Mexico. The Man in Black spent a night in the county jail and later pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count, for which he paid a $1000 fine and received a 30-day suspended sentence.
Jim Morrison Dec. 9, 1967 Charged , alledgedly with breach of peace, resisting arrest, and immoral exhibition. He was released on $1,500 bail. Sentence Several weeks later, all charges were dropped except for breach of the peace, for which Morrison was fined $25.

1980--Paul McCartney and Wings arrive in Tokyo, Japan, for a tour. The music of Wings is banned from all radio and TV stations in the country.

Glenn Frey Eagles guitarist was arrested by Columbus, Ohio cops in May 1973 on drug possession and public intoxication charges
R&B singer Lou Rawls was arrested in January 2003 by Albuquerque police and charged with assaulting his girlfriend. According to the criminal complaint, the 69-year-old Grammy winner, in town to perform at a local casino, argued with Nina Inman over a former girlfriend. Inman, who was staying with Rawls in a room at the Wyndham Hotel, told cops that Rawls grabbed her by the hair and threw her to the ground (cops noted that they observed scratches on Inman's neck). Charged with battery, Rawls was released from the Bernalillo County Jail after posting $2500 bail.
"Godfather of Soul" James Brown, 70, was arrested by Aiken County cops in January 2004 and charged with domestic violence after allegedly pushing his wife to the floor during an argument at the couple's South Carolina home. Tommie Rea Brown, 33, suffered "scratches and bruises to her right arm and hip" during the bedroom dispute, according to investigators.
